Kids Supergym Mississauga News

March 24, 2020

Dear Members,

I sincerely hope that this update finds everyone and their families healthy and keeping safe.

Yesterday the Ontario Government announced that the school closures will continue for an additional number of weeks and possibly longer.
In consideration of the additional measures needed to increase social and physical distancing Kids SuperGym will continue to remain closed.
In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 these measures are of utmost importance to protect everyone including our members, extended families, staff, businesses and especially the most vulnerable amongst us. However, this extension poses additional concerns for the small business owners and difficult decisions need to be made.

Almost 17 years ago while pregnant with my second child I was planning on taking a year maternity leave to spend time at home with my kids and figure out what my future path would be. Little did I know, I would be given the opportunity to purchase Curtis Hibbert’s Kids SuperGym. Though it seemed like madness at the time, especially with a newborn on the way I agreed to purchase the assets of the company. In doing so I not only acquired a business; I acquired a FAMILY. And that is how the Kids SuperGym – Mississauga Family was born. This family includes management, staff and most importantly our members.

As a proud owner it is rewarding to see how generational our program has become. Children who used to be our athletes now bring their children. Alumni members, parents and staff still attend our adult programs and best of all some of our students have become coaches and C.I.T.’s. As many of the athletes and coaches have frequently stated, the gym is their home away from home, their “Happy Place”.

Walking through the gym the past few days has been extremely difficult. Without the presence of our KSG Family the gym is just a building… just a shell. It is dark and cold with thermostats at maintenance settings. The warmth, the energy, the laughter that provides the personality of the gym is sorely missed. I miss my athletes, I miss my staff, I miss my extended family.

Those that know me well will understand what it means when I say it is time to F.O.C.U.S. This is my life motto and it means: Focus On Challenges for Ultimate Success. To say that we are facing challenging times is not an overstatement. But even in these unprecedented circumstances we must look to the future.

To ensure that we have a thriving gym to return to and understanding that everyone is affected mentally, emotionally, physically and financially by this pandemic, I have prepared some member options for moving forward:

*At this time our session will be extended until at least June 28, 2020. As things change modifications will be made. Please know that my goal is to ensure each members receives value for their patronage.

Each member will be contacted over the next couple of days via phone and/or email so that these options can be shared.

Words can not express how thankful I am to all of you for believing and especially for entrusting your most precious treasure to us. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU for your continued support.

Wishing you, your loved ones and especially all who have been hurt by this virus a speedy return to normal.

Dear Members,
We hope this message finds each of you and your families in good health. As a community we are all concerned and stressed about our health, finances and the unknown of the near and distant future.
As previously stated, we have suspended all programs until Monday April 6th to align with the Ontario school closure dates and under the advice of the Ministry of Health. At this time an extension has not been announced by the government. This, of course, may change, as this continues to be a rapidly evolving situation.
March Break Programs
For those that have already paid for this service, we will automatically apply a credit to your file unless you have communicated that you would like a refund. Please note that due to the extenuating circumstances our 2 week period for refunds may extend up to 4-6 weeks from the date that we reopen.
Regular Classes
We will definitely be relaxing our make-up class policy for all members until June 30, 2020 (or longer if required) as long as your membership is still active with Kids SuperGym-Mississauga. We are also planning on several other options to make the most of the balance of the gymnastics year, such as extending our session and offering incentives for our members.
We understand that our closure, along with many other measures that have been put in place to control the spread of COVID-19, has put a financial strain on the entire community (members, families, staff and businesses).
Please trust that we will continue to stay in touch and advise you as the situation unfolds. We are all in this together.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

March 13, 8:51pm

As stated in the first update posted earlier today, we have been monitoring the COVID-19 situation. Kids Supergym – Mississauga will be CLOSED for all regular programs from MARCH 14th until APRIL 5th. We will provide updates as we receive new information. All those registered for March Break Camp will receive refunds or credits. We will offer additional make-up classes for our regular programs. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Stay safe.
